Lack of physical activity, poor nutrition, and childhood obesity are major concerns in communities throughout Michigan. Additionally, while Michigan is the second most agriculturally diverse state in the nation, more and more families and children live in lower-income or rural communities with limited access to nutritious foods. Our 2018 Nutrition & Healthy Lifestyles Initiative will support innovative projects directly linked to nutrition education; food access, security and equity; and health and wellness.
